How to Get Involved / Schedule of Events
Transparent, open, and ongoing public engagement is a critical component of the NY Forward planning process and the development of the SIP.
Two public meetings were held during the planning process, one in June and another in September. The consultant team provided information on the planning process and asked for community feedback on vision, goals, and potential projects. Over 150 people attended these meetings.
A pop-up was held at Tuesdays in the Park on August 19th to share information.
The Open Call for Projects ran from early June to August 22nd. Sixteen potential projects were submitted for NY Forward funding consideration. Eleven small project fund interest letters were also submitted.
The Local Planning Committee (LPC) is comprised of local and regional leaders, stakeholders, and community representatives intended to represent diverse interests. The LPC oversees the planning process and the development of the SIP. LPC meetings are working meetings for committee members but are open to the public to observe.
